
The Plant Protection Department
The Plant Protection Department today, formerly known as the Department of Plant Protection and Quarantine, was established on October 5, 1961, under Decree No. 152/CP of the Council of Government.

The Plant Protection Research Institute
The institute has 117 staff members, including: 27 PhDs, 65 Master's degree holders, 22 Bachelor's degree holders, and 3 technical service staff.

The Soils and Fertilizers Institute
The Institute of Soil and Fertilizer is a public scientific institution under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS). It has the function of conducting scientific research, technology transfer, and business production in the fields of soil, fertilizers, and microorganisms nationwide.

The Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Science in the Northern Mountainous Region
The Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute was established under Decision No. 220/2005/QĐ-TTg on September 9, 2005, by the Prime Minister and Decision No. 3407/QĐ-BNN-TCCB on December 5, 2005, by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension Center
The institute originated from the Phu Tho Agricultural and Forestry Research Station, which was founded by the French in 1918. The Center for Technology Transfer and Agricultural Extension is under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It is currently one of 18 affiliated units and serves as the focal point for technology transfer and agricultural extension of the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
