Functions

  1. - The Soils and Fertilizers Institute is responsible for developing strategies, programs, projects, and plans for scientific research and technology transfer in the fields of soil, fertilizers, and microorganisms. These are submitted for approval by competent authorities and implemented accordingly.
  2. - It conducts basic, directed scientific research and technology transfer in the following areas:
  3. - Research on the physical, chemical, biological properties, and fertility of soils.

    - Research on the economics of land and fertilizer use; land management and utilization.

    - Research on plant nutrition, and the rational and effective use of fertilizers and agricultural chemicals.

    - - Collection, preservation, research, evaluation, and exploitation of soil microorganism resources.

    - Research on the development and standardization of soil, water, fertilizer, and plant analysis methods.

    - Conduct fertilizer and soil amendment testing and evaluation.

  4. - Promote agricultural and forestry extension regarding fertilizers and land use.
  5. - Participate in the planning and development of agricultural land use.
  6. - Implement international cooperation on scientific research, technology transfer, expert cooperation, and human resource training in the fields of soil, fertilizers, and microorganisms.
  7. - Provide consulting, services, and transfer the results of scientific and technological research on soil, fertilizers, and microorganisms. Collaborate on scientific research, technology development, testing new techniques, new products, and human resource training in the assigned fields with domestic organizations.
  8. - Produce, trade, and import/export agricultural products.
  9. - Efficiently manage and utilize human resources, budgets, and assets entrusted.

CURRENT HUMAN RESOURCES

As of March 2023, the total number of staff at the Institute is 146, including: 20 PhDs (including 2 Associate Professors), 73 Masters, 30 engineers and bachelors, and 7 others with different qualifications.
